Easy, that would be Cameo or The Ohio Players. Parliament didn't have a whole lot of hits. Earth, Wind and Fire one of my favorite all time bands but I wouldn't consider them funk.

I would think more of today's artist would collaborate with them. Or maybe that is just me hoping to improve modern music.
