8% cut across the board on all spending except veterans benefits and defense. Increase in Border security. No sense in all republicans in the house for not approving. Best they can do since they do not control the senate or WH. Is it perfect - no, but an 8% cut is significant and shows the McConell Republicans in the senate we do have some fiscal responsibility. Holding out for more or a perfect 2023 Budget bill is troubling as there is none that could get 100% House Republicans approval . Pass the CR, negotiate it with the Senate and keep moving on as no way we get a 24 Budget if McConnell and Shummer control the Senate and the holdout republicans control the house.

The MAGA wing in the house will not agree with ANY proposal.
Trump said "shut it down", so they must comply with their leader.

I’m not sure that is 100% correct as Chip Roy actually drafted the CR, and I’m not always a big fan of him it looked solid and well reasoned. Some are after McCarthy who appears to be doing an OK job with a slim majority and a bunch of backseat drivers. The Senate Republicans have certainly done him no favors by signing on to a CR that makes NO CUTS. Shame on them….

My guess would be they've seen the same song and dance routine 100 other times. Conservatives start out with a reasonable proposal. Listen to the promises and pass a resolution. It gets to reconciliation and the left holds firm, the soft middle pubs cave and the can gets kicked down the road again.

Heck, it is to the point now where it no longer matters anyway. Massive debt, rising interest rates and a working class that have been conditioned to accept handouts. We've been running on fumes for a while now and we dont have the fuel, money or desire to pay the piper.

These damn Republicans have got to stop stop acting like children and come together as a united party to win anything in this next election. We all should demand it for our national security.

The soft middle pubs need to be kicked to the roadside, they were elected as Republicans. This country has gone to hell in a hand basket and they are sitting on the sideline. Do your job or get out. To not elect a speaker of the house is unforgivabl.
