Dr. prescribed Naproxen (Not Aleve). When you feel it coming on, take for a day of two and it goes away. Been battling for 4 years in toe off and on then took anti-inflamitory Voltaren for couple weeks and the soreness is gone for months. Good Luck!
Colchicine and Allopurninal.
Both prescription. They will keep if from coming back.but won't do any good to get rid of it
There's one more and it will knock it out in one dose but it will make you sick as a dog(no pun intended) Indomethacin.
It will make you feel like somebody punched you in the gut as well as have a head ache worse than any hangover. But it knocks gout out over night. I would suggest taking it before you go to bed so as to spare yourself the side effects and trying to work with them.
