Not sure who gets credit for this. No author was mentioned in the original I received. It’s been edited a bit. But, the “feelings” are genuine.

“I have never wished to live anywhere else. This is my home and I was privileged to be born here. But today I woke up and as I had my morning coffee, I realized that everything is changing for the worse. No matter how I vote, no matter what I say, no matter how much I pray, something evil has invaded our nation, and our lives are never going to be the same.

I have been confused by the hostility of family and friends. I look at people I have known all my life--so hate-filled that they lean to agree with opinions they would never express as their own. I think that I may well have entered the Twilight Zone. We have become a nation that has lost its collective mind and possibly its soul.

It’s very hard to justify this insanity:

If a guy pretends to be a woman, you are required to pretend with him.

Somehow it’s un-American for the census to count how many Americans are in America.

Russia’s attempting to influence our elections is bad, but illegals’ voting in our elections is good.

Twenty is too young to drink a beer, but eighteen is old enough to vote.

People who have never owned slaves should pay slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves.

People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who take out huge loans for degrees with low marketability.

Immigrants with medical or societal issues are welcome, but your dog must be vaccinated, on a leash or behind a fence. Voter ID is common in many countries around the world (even in democratic socialist countries) along with voting required in person on one (1) voting day. How brilliantly simple! But our lives are so complicated, dontcha know.

Indian doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate to the US must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang member or terrorist who jumps the southern fence is barely processed if at all.

$5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not. Balance has to be in there somewhere.

If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free.

We see other countries going far left Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan for half of us to have someone to watch over us, so we can sleep & dream & wish & hope for more stuff.

Some of us are held responsible for things that happened before we were born, while others are not held responsible or accountable for choices they make or actions they take right now, every day.

Catch & Release law enforcement/judicial system effectively pouring fuel on the fire, funneling criminals back into the communities to harm more law abiding citizens. Stopping them is mean & bad because it's a violation of their rights as only they are now considered victims of this/our system.

· The horribly mismanaged Afghanistan venture, vaccines vs. treatments as Big Pharma gets filthier by the minute, while paying off their political operatives, endless COVID variants, election cheating, deficient presidents, violence in the cities, talk of defunding the police, confiscating my guns while arming terrorists, blaming anyone & everything other than our own choices.
·And pointing out all this hypocrisy somehow makes us racists or uncaring or the worst of all monsters, “mean, old people.”

Not much makes sense anymore - no values, no morals, and no civility. A really bad combination.

People died and are dying due to a horrible virus, but it's racist to refer to it as Chinese even though it began in China.

We are participants & passengers in an upside-down world where right is wrong and wrong is right, where moral is immoral and immoral is moral, where good is evil and evil is good.

Wake up America! Wake up.”

That about sums it up. Whose lunatic policies precipitated that shitstorm?

I felt sorry for the writer before the end of the first paragraph. Terrible for that guy/gal to see the place he was grateful for turned into an open air nuthouse.
