Germany and France and UK seem to do pretty darned well

Don't know what you mean by honeycomb housing but I will say that most of the time you see way less suburban sprawl and decay over yonder .... They do have some of it, I guess it's inevitable, but it's a lot more controlled

I lived over the pond for several years and I think it's great .... Taxes can be a lot though

iMo, if you want to look at Europe and paint it with a single word, socialism wouldn't be it.

Nonetheless if you want a valid counter to whatever your point is (I'm not sure actually), then just look at the period from 1900 to 1950 as a start

I think you understand, big government is not the answer . the more they control ,the more they screw up .
this is not even considering the loss of liberty .
