The ozone hole issue actually argues in favor of impact and intervention so, thanks. Still an issue but better thanks to the banning of chlorinated fluorocarbons.

You mean the NATURAL ozone hole? The one that's been around since...Oh the birth of the Earth....My God you got it bad huh LOL

Wow, somebody saw Jurrasic Park! That's Horners theory, not everyone's. And, I explained that above; has to do with general scientific ignorance.

Two questions. Whats the optimum temp of the Earth? And show me one of these "reports" that says Climate change is absolutely caused by man that has 100% of all scientist agreeing?

Are you talking about Generation Investment Management? And what are these 'nuts' proposing that has you so weak in the bladder?
Uh......proposed dramatic reduction in allowed carbon emissions. The only way this could be accomplished would be a 60 or 70% reduction in petro based energy. I'm all for solar and wind and nuke and geo-thermal and hydrogen cells and all the rest, but right now, none of them, save nuke, are economical. In a few years, sure, but not right now. As for nuclear energy, every time it's discussed, everybody gets their skull masks out, picks up their 'Remember Three Mile Island" signs and starts to scream. How do you propose that we run EVERYTHING?

Not what I'm saying by any stretch of your conspiracy theory-riddled mind. From the complex models you've been involved with, how easy was it to come up with accurate predictions on a short time frame? Or did you constantly recalibrate the models with the additional data and look at trends? Your requirement is that models of incredibly intricate systems, systems with an amazing amount of data points, be absolutely perfect from initiation....or the whole thing is a hoax. Science doesn't work that way. It is based on the premise that the basics are understandable and the interaction of understood systems will respond to changes in a consistent manner. The difficult part is identifying all the necessary inputs. In sum, perhaps you should educate yourself on the process...or just realize that you're out of your depth and confine your hoax-busting efforts to the faked Moon landing and the Elvis' 'death'.

Models being the key word in your post. And who puts the data in those models? And why do they talk about chaging the date because they aren't getting the results they need. can you sight any model that has EVER been accurate? Can you explain why Sat Data contradicts the models? Can you tell us why there's no warming the last 18 years, can you tell us why they are now calling for a cooling period? What is the Optimun temp of the Earth. If you can't answer these questions STFU and admit you're nothing but a useful idiot, a dupe, and self important numbnuts

There is a 50 year history of environmental alarmism that has failed every single prediction. From the end the oil supply to vast famine that was supposed to occur in the 90's to the destruction caused by acid rain to the ever expanding deserts to the current Global Warming mantra that is almost 30 years old with no real change. Remember Paul Ehrlich's The Population Bomb? How'd that work out?
What about Rachel Carson's book Silent Spring that launched the environmental movement by campaigning against DADT which the effect of banning only saved the lives of birds at the expense of hundreds of thousands of humans by reversing the eradication of malaria. Forget Charlie Sheen, that's WINNING like an environmentalist!!!
Go back and review Jimmy Carter's Global 2000 Report and see how accurate that was....

If anything has been constant, it is the failure of the alarmists. We don't have to check back in 20 years, they have been failing for 50 already....unless you just enjoy the idea of a 70 year trend of bullshit.

Look up Mark Jacobson at Stanford.

First....Breitbart? Seriously? Then, the 'article' mentions a peer reviewed article on the subject; why not read that instead of a blurb from this blithering idiot? Rhetorical question.
Still doesn't explain the end of the ice age or the relative lack of Hurricanes since Katrina or the fact the the ice field over the South Pole is growing or the Greenland ice pack is getting thicker.

Stanford...so nobody in your family will ever contribute.

Did you miss my other posts with the questions and quotes? Seems you'll never contribute to Stanford either. In fact I doubt you'll contribute to anything educational

Yet so many seem to know his/her/its code of conduct. Perhaps a more logical explanation is that the need for a greater power has always been part of the human psyche. But we digress; the point is the fatalism of many who see this life as only a waiting room.
His code of conduct was written for us as a life instruction guide--called The Holy Bible. It was spoken to disciples who wrote the words for us to read and understand.
This is our guide to the path to eternal life without pain, suffering, wars. What have to to lose if you give it a shot? If you are right oh well, If not you have lost your soul and suffer the eternal pain of separation from GOD. It is not a matter to be taken lightly. Give it a shot. Try reading "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel, It will answer any questions you may have much more eloquently than I ever could.

I don't have any questions. Sorry, outgrew imaginary friends years ago.

He doesn't want to answer that. The rest of the scientific community has started at the same point and cannot reach the same conclusion. The hockey stick graph gave the GW folks a real problem once it was disproven.
Call him and ask. I'm sure he'd love a call from an interested fellow scientist.

WOW. so it's okay to ridicule Christianity, but I'm supposed to be understanding when Achmed lops somebody's head off? You have a real problem, Moonunit.
Who told you that? Religion is religion: a childish attempt to allay a fear of death. Some just take it too far, going from mildly pathetic and sad to pathological.

Hydro. My apologies but I get you confused with some others here. Did you see my question on Al Gore? I assume you did and chose to side step it. We all know how old you are. How about you quit taking up our space? Slice across twice and then up once with vigor.

Quite the opposite. It takes a bold leap of faith to dive into this realm. I do not fear death, I am at peace with where I will spend eternity after me earthly body perishes.
Its not forced upon you just take a try if nothing else to prove me and the estimated 6.9 Billion Christians (2010) wrong, what have you got to lose?
I hope you have a great day.

He avoids answering questions, to answer would require substance. See the biggest issue he has is, Nature is on ourside, you can't compete with nature.

I did and asked for clarification. Why the obsession with the former VP?

And how would I prove you wrong?More importantly, why would I care enough to try? It would be like, exactly like actually, telling kids there's no Santa.

Well, he talks so well. More of the adulation of the stupid that has become the signature of the right.
More of the adulation of the humorless that has become the signature of the left. Why don't you lighten up, Francis? As to the Christian belief that Jesus is the Son of God, and that God is the Creator, how do you know that its not true?

I don't. Hard to prove a negative. Other people I don't know aren't divine include Copernicus, Milton Berle, and my mail carrier. You build your worldview out of things you can't disprove? Must have one cluttered psyche.

Because some prefer the fantasy that a infinitely dense sphere about the size of a marble floating around in nothingness for who knows how long decided at some point yet to be defined (but there is a label made for it as we're very good at labeling things and pretending that label = definition) to explode and start a series of miraculous shocks, waves, shifts and morphs that ultimately and magically caused (as a minuscule sidebar) "our" solar system and earth to occur, which led to the generation of everything we can see, hear, smell and feel on this planet. And at some point shortly after all that, we decided we humanoids knew it all or had an eager willingness to label it all. Makes perfect sense, right?

Not sure where I heard this but it sums up a lot of what we tend to argue about. Science is less about invention and more about discovery. "The Truth is out there" anyone?

Except for the magically part. That's more in line with the all powerful uber-being 'explanation' preferred by children of all ages.

Jacobson was on Letterman. He must be a god. Better yet, he's a celebrity scientist. He's written a couple of text books (my text book 1 and my text book 2) plus the exposure to his groupie following paves the path to sales and marketing for fun and profit. This is what we do with religion and with science. We package it and we sell it.

What's not magical about any phase of the Big Bang "Theory?" Just because we have language and pretend to connect dots by mouthing words like, "then this happened, then that happened" is a zillion light years away from actually understanding it and proving it with "human" minds that may not be up to the task. Read about Nimrod. Our smug arrogance has always out paced our intelligence as well as our practical knowledge.

And that makes his theories wrong?

Didn't say his "theories" are wrong. Theories by definition have not been proved or disproved. My angle is about human nature. Our nature is to pretend we know all about our environment and where it came from and what controls it. That arrogance is what we use to veil the FACT that we are not the most intelligent being or thing or force hanging around the universe (whatever that actually is). We are subject to our primal fears and tendencies. We just veil them a bit more effectively these days. We ALWAYS have over estimated our power and knowledge throughout the ages. And we will likely continue making fools of ourselves in the face of "universal" nature and universal truths (not to be confused with labels acting as definitions).
