While pondering Kirby's candidacy for coach of the year for parlaying the consensus #1 SOS to a SEC championship (and perhaps more), I was wondering what the SEC office might have in mind for the 2026 conference schedule.
How many conference games will it include?
Will there be some formula for balancing the schedule and ensuring a team plays all the other SEC teams within a set number of seasons?
Will the process be made public or remain locked away in Birmingham minds and hard drives?
Will Texas be given perceived special treatment (as they did all those years in the Big-12)?
Just wondering. Any ideas on what might happen in 2026 and beyond? (Caveat: I anticipate this will be directly affected by what the CFP decides to do beyond 2025.)
