.22-250 is hell on a barrel. If you have some time, have one built to your specs. I have a Bull Barreled rem 700 in .223 and love it(599.00 on sale at BPS). The little bit of difference in performance makes for a much longer lasting barrel and far cheaper ammo for the .223. You do not give up much at all.
If you have one built, look for a cheap Rem 700 or Model 10Savage, order a custom barrel, mine came from McGowen(7mm Mag) though I have a Broughton on my .308. Then have a local gunsmith switch it out for you, also lets you customize the stocl/chassis. I recommend an XLR chassis for that. You will end up with a much better firearm and you can choose twist to the weight of the bullet you wish to shoot.
Once you start Contracting the first one out you will be hooked and end up with far better rifles. They cost more but you spread it out over time.
