As I sit here looking at what's happening across all of college football, and acutely at Bama now, it's easy to see the windfall of potential game-changers we can bring into the UGA fold via this late portal.
But what is the cost within the team? Because, to be sure, when we bring studs onboard, it pushes out the 3rd and 4th string guys. Maybe even some guys who would be pushing for PT and/or cracking the starting rotation are now left wondering if they'll see the field.
I wonder what the message is internally. Will Kirby be seen as a mercenary himself and lose the belief of some guys? Does this make the portal more attractive to some of our players to go somewhere with more certainty and/or continuity?
We all know playing time is earned and not a given...but mentally this has to be hard on some guys within the locker room.
