Just got back from practice:
-In 7 on 7 Park showed out hitting Malcolm Mitchell on a 40+ yard TD bomb in which Mitchell juked Parish out of his shoes.
In the next series, Park hit Izzie on another 40 yard TD in which Izzie just flat outran his man (Jarvis Wilson from Mississippi?)...Pruitt was really trying to help Wilson through the practice...I had never heard of the kid, but apparently Pruitt thinks he is going to have to contribute this year at DB.
-In the 11 on 11, Ramsey was the better QB hitting Scott Wesley on a 99 yard TD in the two minute drill (only needed 12 seconds). Park looked a little lost when he had extra defenders flying at him.
However, Ramsey throws the ball as hard as he can for the sake of throwing the ball as hard as he can to the point throwing un-catch-able balls.
Bauta is a none factor...unless we need an interception specialist.
The white UAB LB (Ganus) kept getting through blitzes and sacking Park...although, I think Park would have been able to take off had it not been two hand QB touch rules.
Ganus is a heady LB. You can tell he has figured out the timing on when to get through the O line untouched.
Park looks like one of the Backstreet boys became a crack addict.
-When Chubb's team had the ball for the 2 minute drill, he took it 99 yards on the first play to "win the game".
-Theus and Sterling Bailey(?) got into an extended fight that ended up lasting over a minute with no coach being strong enough to separate them. Lorenzo Carter did.
-Lorenzo Carter is clearly the best player on the D.
-Tramel Terry is going to play a big roll in the secondary.
-Mitchell, McKenzie and Scott Wesley are the only receivers that can catch.
Tibbs, Towns and Davis are all carbon copies of each other and are a notch below.
-Izzie stayed after practice for 30 minutes to work on fielding punts. I am going to bet he will field all punt opportunities this year. No fair catch specialist on the team.
-Turman looked good. Sony and Marshall played water boy. I hope Sony is ok for summer practice. He is going to be needed to return kick offs and be the receiving threat out of the backfield. Quayvon can't catch and has terrible footwork when trying to catch.
-If we are going to make the TE a renewed focus of the O, it is going to be all Blaz, as Rome can't catch and run and Jordan Davis can't catch.
I think Park is still the best chance we have due to his running ability. He reminds me of a Nevada era Kapernick. That being said, CMR will choose Ramsey as he is immobile and has a big arm. Chubb will run for 1800 yards, but this team will not win the SEC (although, they should get to the SEC Champ game by default).
