Gadogs.com: Bulldogs Announce Tip Times & TV Assignments

“The exhibition versus Eastern Kentucky, which is picked to win the Atlantic Sun Conference this season in ESPN's preseason Bracketology, will benefit the American Red Cross of Georgia's disaster relief efforts due to the recent impact of Hurricane Idalia on parts of South Georgia. General admission tickets for the public will be $5 and go on sale on Oct. 16, with seating for the game on a first-come, first-served basis. UGA students will be admitted free to the exhibition with a valid UGA ID.

A trio of non-conference games – against Wake Forest on Nov. 11, Georgia Tech on Dec. 5 and High Point on Dec. 16 – will appear on the SEC Network. The Bulldogs also open conference play on the SEC Network with a Jan. 6 date at Missouri. That represents the first of 14 league games that will air on the SEC Network…”

“In addition to the SEC package, four more Georgia contests will be televised. The season opener on Nov. 6 versus Oregon that is part of the Naismith Hall of Fame Series in Las Vegas will air on a yet-to-be-announced network. Both of the Bulldogs' games at the Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship on Nov. 17 and Nov. 19 will air on the CBS Sports Network. Georgia's Nov. 29 matchup at Florida State in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge will be televised on the ACC Network.”

Florida
USA Today: Senior transfer forward leaves Florida basketball team

“Florida men’s basketball head coach Todd Golden spoke to the media on Tuesday and revealed that Yale transfer EJ Jarvis is leaving the team for personal reasons…

The 6-foot-8-inch forward was supposed to be substantial to the Gators’ offense but now Golden will turn to other arrivals like sophomore Micah Handlogten, senior Tyrese Samuel, freshman Alex Condon and freshman Thomas Haugh to fill the No. 4 spot on the floor.
Aleks Szymczyk suffered a broken foot on Aug. 29, with an outlook of 10-12 weeks for recovery. Once the lone remaining frontcourt player from last season returns, the Orange and Blue should have some appreciable depth.”

Syracuse
Rothstein: Syracuse will not look like the Syracuse that we've seen during the past few seasons. The Orange are determined to play stifling, man-to-man defense under Adrian Autry.

Texas Tech
Lubbock Avalanche Journal: 3 observations from Texas Tech basketball's first practice of 2023-24 season

“Depth in the post is something the Red Raiders will deal with throughout the year. Arizona State transfer Warren Washington, standing at 7-feet tall, is the lone player on the roster taller than 6-8. His presence in the middle will be crucial for Tech to handle lengthier opponents such as Kansas' Hunter Dickinson.

Washington and KyeRon Lindsay, who transferred from Georgia in December and sat out the second half of the season, were the lone bodies going through big man drills on one end of the court in the viewing portion.”
