If we are going to have a pocket passer then we are going to need to do better at elite wr recruiting and we need to be more aggressive in the passing game. Beck has all the tools as a qb to destroy defenses if he has elite wr and is allowed to let it rip. I think Beck needs to come back and improve his game but we need to give him some help.
If we can't get elite wr or we refuse to pay the elite wr talent to come, then we are going to be better off with a mobile qb who can buy some time and allow our lesser talent to get open and also punish with his legs. This is why we were so effective with Stetson, he bought time, he helped when the OL broke down and he made plays with his legs he was hard to defend.
This latter point is why I like Pug more of the two qbs coming in, he's mobile throws well on the run and seems very tough. If we dont sort out our recruiting at WR we are going to be better off with Pug and Gunner than we are pocket passers.
