A dear friend was killed by a blow to the head at home (don't know the nature of it). He was from Compton, homeless and found his way to West Point...

He was a true success story. An engineer, and was almost within reach of his dream of moving to New Zealand to start a life.

He had character. He was the living embodiment of perseverance. If he wasn't overcoming something, he wasn't living. Trying to make sense of how a loving God could allow this, but I suppose the only thing I can tell myself is that he gave my friend to us, to teach us lesons about triumph and how an indomitable spirit can crush any obstacle.

But more than anything, I just want to say his name, because by God it deserves it to just be put out in the ether. Dominique Fisher.
