- Turtle is shooting 41% behind the arc and 83% from the line. He definitely has the mentality of a distributor, but we need him to take a few more shots too. I've seen him listed here several times as disappointing, but he's growing and I bet we see more out of him as the season goes.
- JJ is shooting 34% behind the arc and I seem to remember quite a few misses being of the wide open variety. Don't I remember his shot starting out a little off early in past seasons too?
- Yante is averaging 21.5ppg even though his FT% is at 65%. I think Yante has typically been about a 75% shooter at the line if I remember correctly. The ONLY criticism I have of Yante is that his shot could use a little arc. He shoots lasers, and they still usually go in.
- DO and ME show some growth in their stat lines, but not as much as I expected (although ME is 73% from the stripe!!!). I think these guys need more minutes (20 for ME and 17.7 for DO). They also need to see the FG% continue to rise. They're both over 50% from the floor this year but still missing too many around the bucket...need to be close to 60% players.
- Jordan Harris is averaging over 4 points in 12 minutes per game, shooting 60% from the floor and behind the arc. Obviously his FG attempts are still pretty low, but he doesn't force many (if any) bad shots. He's going to be a player. The only knock I see on him is that he'll beat the first man off the dribble and then run into trouble when help comes. That's where his turnovers have come from. He needs to keep playing more.
- JP is contributing to the team, but he needs to play when we have shooters on the floor and he need not pull another three unless the shot cock is expiring (13%).
- We still need to redistribute some minutes (Pape, Harris, DO, and ME need more minutes that have gone to JP, HK, and KPG). Yes, I know that's not a revelation. I'm content with Crump getting limited minutes until he gets something going, which I think he will. If and when he starts to hit, we may have to duffle some minutes again.
