Only one of these people really has the time to watch and evaluate football games and that is the retired HC (not that he doesn’t do anything). No AD or corporate executive is sitting on his butt during his “spare time” watching football games all day on Saturdays.
One of the ADs is Ward Manuel, the current AD at the University of Michigan, whose football team is ranked #1 in the CFP, despite being under NCAA investigation for cheating and was also reprimanded by the Big 10 for the same infraction.
