I am cautiously optimistic that the recent optimism is warranted.
However, remember all the optimism about Jakeenan Gant coming to UGA? Gant had a chance to bolt for another school after Coach Haith resigned. I read a recent quote from Michael Stokes, Gant's AAU coach, talking about whether UGA or GT was a in the running for Gant.
"Those guys, Georgia and Georgia Tech, had a chance to recruit him before he signed, and he (Gant) didn't show interest then," he said. "So I don't know why it would be any different now."
We thought we had a near lock on Gant. Michael Stokes makes it sound as we didn't even get a sniff from Mr. Jakeenan. It seems we can get excited about things that aren't even real sometimes.
