OP is at the Fairfield Inn somewhere and they don’t have drinks. Man that sucks but the manager really can’t do anything about it beyond say “lol sorry” at that point. I’m all for people getting good service but what exactly is the manager supposed to do? Order him doordash
If I had a guest on crutches, I would ask him what he needed, and let him know that I would have it taken care of in an hour or so...Like a 1? I mean maybe the manager could have been a little more sympathetic but what’d you want her to do? Drive you to wal mart?
I do...I have been copied in on these types of emails to the CEO when my company screwed up...I would have to drop everything and do whatever it took to get the disgruntled customer happy...Anyone on the email chain that didn’t move at the right pace to get the CEO out of the line of fire from a consumer was in jeopardy of losing their job...Obviously you speak from experience, savage
Who’s parents had a real nice marriage.OP sounds like a spoiled little Clarence.
You lost me at 3 knee surgeries in 6 weeks. What the hell have you been doing?Wisdom of the Vent.
So, I am in lovely Detroit on business. I have had 3 knee surgeries in 6 weeks, my last being roughly 3 weeks ago. I am on crutches but doing ok. I "walk" to the lobby to hit the hotel pantry and they have no drinks. (Also no ice cream, but that doesnt apply here). The manager sees me and my struggles. I asked the Manager, a Marriott franchisee, about the lack of soft drinks or water and she said.......wait for it....."We dont really pay much attention to the drink cooler. There is a Walmart right over there (pointing). If you want something to drink, they have all you need"
Now, I am a pretty calm guy. I am also a Marriott Titanium Platinum Big Kahuna Top Tier member.
How pissed should I be? I think my compass is off because I wanted to say bad words to her.

There's the solution...leave em the old upper decker.Ah-HA! "Give a sh!t" is the operative phrase.
You know, before the pandemic we were beyond “full employment” in this country. Meaning that not only did everyone who wanted a job have one, there was a significant number of people who had jobs even though they didn’t want one and hadn’t been in the workforce in years, if ever.Consider myself a frequent traveler in the HGI/Courtyard type property. I never rely on the hotel for anything and have very low expectations. You are SOL. Also from my recent experiences service industries don’t really care about the customer right now. They’re pissed off being at work while their friends collect about same amount of money to not work.
How about if you have drink fridge in your pantry that is supposed to be full of drinks...you take your lazy manager ass across the street to WalMart, buy a couple of 12 packs of soda and restock your fridge. Instead of telling your everyday customer to go to WalMart....much less telling your customer who has a obvious disability to go across the street. I guarantee if you talked to Marriott hierarchy, that is what they would expect their manager to do and I am sure they would even let them expense it.....but as others have mentioned, what the company wants and what the quality of employees nowadays are, seem to be drifting farther and farther apart. That fridge not having drinks, and the manager recommending WalMart, simply meant that manager really didnt want to do the job they were hired to do which is to not only run the hotel....but keep the people in the hotel reasonably happy. If OP went in looking for a steak....that is unreasonable and the manager can't fix that....but looking for a soda in your soda fridge seems like something that manager could handle.OP is at the Fairfield Inn somewhere and they don’t have drinks. MACGRUBER! Greatest film ever made about MacGruber. There's the solution...leave em the old upper decker.
I am shame.
Well @donalsonville_dawg , I dont stay at Fairfield. This one happens to be a new Springfield Suites, not that its a flagship Marriott, but its better than most business class hotels. But if it were some 30 year old Courtyard, or Fairfield, or TownePlace, do your damn job. If you have a pantry, fill the thing. What should she do? Let me tell you. She should have taken her sorry ass to Walmart, bought a few Coke brands, or Pepsi since its Michigan, stocked the ****ing cooler with 50 cent drinks and sold them for $2...but hey, what do I know. Least of all, dont be a smartass about it. Feign some kind of "sorry" to the customer.
