Ahh the Pope and and his elaborate pomp and circumstance.

Meanwhile just a few feet away people are starving and struggling. What a crock of shit! I hate organized religion just as my Lord and Savior Jesus of Nazareth did.
The Vatican's art treasures are estimated to be worth $17 billion. Liquidating some of that would go a l-o-n-g way toward eliminating human suffering throughout the world, but we all know THAT'S never gonna happen.

If all the $50 million dollar players, actors and celebrities share half their salaries, we could probably feed all the homeless in every city in America.

So your point on the Vatican?

One would think the point is obvious to the most casual of observers. Hording that much wealth--while knowing the human suffering its liquidation could relieve-- is contrary to the teachings of Christ.

F'n a BD f'n a. I could see my Savior taking a flame thrower to all that art. He has a history of turning over tables in the Temple to go after the unrighteous. He would have a field day with these yo yo's in Rome

I'd say it's a bit hypocritical for the church to have that kind of wealth - especially that they continually demand more from their parishioners. If you've got enough $ to build something like 6 Flags Over Jesus up there in Woodstock, you shouldn't have a single person without 3 hots and a cot within 100 miles, IMO.

I don't hate them but religions are no more than gangs. All political parties such as Democrats, Republicans. Socialists, Communists, all of them are very much gangs. Labor unions are gangs of course. But hey, what about the lead Democrat gangster, Obama, he'll go on and on about the poor then climb his azz in a government jet and take his wife and 2 children on a 40 million dollar 5 day "vacation" in a minute. That is disgusting.

Tell it to T.D. Jakes and Joel Osteen while you're at it. The love of money is not exclusive to the Roman Catholic Church.

And Hagee, Graham, Jeffrees, etc.

Have to admit, although, Osteen has acquired a lot of wealth through his preaching, I DO like how he preaches. He's more motivational than most pastors. I do not see how that crazy Westboro pastor will ever enter the Gates.

The list goes on and on on the different groups of society and their wealth and what they can do . What about the pro team owners? Look at how the taxpayers usually spend the most putting up new arenas? Sure, it will bring some jobs. At least temporary ones. How bout putting some of their money back into the community for the homeless, veterans, etc.?
