That's how you get better, the shame drives the addition. Once you get it out you realize that other people struggle with the same thing. People respect honesty and genuine people. Pretending to be something that you are not will kill an addict.

Sober 5 years off of crack, cocaine, adderall, and alcohol. It almost killed me.
 
Yes it was heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time. To ask your kid when they leave the house...tell me know what you want cremation or burial. Is brutal. I couldnt imagine saying that to one of my sons.
 
Its my experience that helping them in any way will kill them faster than letting them go. As a parent it would be the hardest thing that you could ever do, but it just might save their life. No easy choices...
