All I Want For Christmas Is a Revamped Playoff

Now that the PAC 12 is gone, I wish the conference championships would be the first round of an eight team playoff.

Preserve the rivalries, maintain the regional emphasis(whats left of it anyway) and protect the best regular season in sports by requiring a contender to win their division... You win a playoff spot on the field against your rivals during the regular season. Conference Championships would then be huge with the winners guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.
