Always disappointing to lose to tech...

but what happened last night wasn't the end of the world. tech isn't a very good baseball team, but they played better than we did last night. It happens. We've beaten them plenty of times with not so great baseball teams ourselves.

One thing about us right now is that we're winning games despite not playing all that great. We didn't play a great game against Clemson last week. We didn't play all that well on Saturday in Missouri either. It's good that it doesn't take everything firing perfectly to end up with a win, but at the same time, it's apparent that we need to tighten up a few things.

I don't think that the issue with walks is something that can be corrected this year. It's a function of a lot of young pitchers who are in bigger roles than they probably should be, given all the injuries on the staff. In that respect, I think what we saw last night is actually a credit to our coaching. Stricklin and Kenny have done a great job working around all of these injuries... we're 9-9 in the SEC and, to me, last night shows that we've probably over-performed a little bit to have that record.

Obviously it's important that we take care of business this weekend against an Auburn group that is much better than its record suggests. It's also important that we beat tech when we play them in a few weeks, and I really believe that we will
