but I am about to build a house and want to know if you have used spray foam and if that's the best to insulate your house. Pros and cons of it.

My main concern will be the potential of chemical leakage.

You can avoid it if you use structurally insulated panels instead of a traditional stick building method. The "shell" of your home will be panels of extruded polystyrene either framed in steel or sandwiched between steel sheets. It's lighter, more wind resistant, eliminates bugs from entering the home, and has a significantly higher R value than anything you'd be willing to pay for in the way of traditional or spray foam insulation. To top it off, it's less expensive and you can be completely dried-in within a week, depending on the size of your home.
