No way, the "U" will be looking for a thug-coddling reprobate like Bobby Petrino to dive into their cesspool of a program.
Nope. Alumni base is too small, the university is unwilling to spend money on the football program, the team plays in front of hundreds of fans in an NFL team's stadium 45 minutes from the UM campus, and CMR would have to competitively recruit Miami-Dade County against UF, FSU, USF, UCF, FAU, and FIU, not to mention Ohio State, Alabama, and other national powers.
All of that may be true, but it's not why Richt won't go. He won't go because he said he won't go.
I bet he would if there was a high dive at UM!
LOL...I doubt he wants the AD job, but he wouldn't get it even if he did. The days of the long-time coach getting kicked upstairs when he retires from coaching are mostly over.

Sure he has. If he'd wanted to play that game his agent could have put hints out that he might be interested in this or that position. Around 2005 I expect he could have had most any job that came open in CFB.
No he's spending all his time burning the midnite oil. Marshmallow Mark coming up with special plays for flurda. A wheel route, special screen,and one called a waggle play.

It's silly to think Richt couldn't have had other offers if he had an interest. I've heard he doesn't have an agent, and that he does. He would only need to set a price with UGA, since he isn't looking around doesn't need an agent to sniff around.

Richt is a good man, that is a plus, but that isn't why he's still our HC.
Like every coach before him the last 30+ years at UGA. He'll be out of coaching when he leaves. No one wants the guy, never have.
He could have replaced Bobby Bowden with a phone call. Do you really think when he went 13-1 his 2nd season he wouldn't have had a hot ticket ? Or after winning his 2nd SEC title in his first 5 seasons ?
my comment has nothing to do about coaching, I just want to point out how two quality people like Mark Richt and Jim Kelly came out of that cesspool of a program is beyond me.

The score doesn't speak to how bad we got beat. 28-0 before you could bat an eye. That was the beginning of the annual embarrassing let downs on the national stage. It's been consistent ever since.
The flip side is the team didn't quit and we may have won with a bit more time.
