Quick Background: Son just turned 4. We've been playing "baseball" for about 2 years now. "Baseball" to him has always been me throwing to him and him hitting the ball. (This has always been a plastic ball and bat inside the house). When he hit the ball, I said good job, no matter where it went. When he threw it back to me, he always just stood flat-footed and threw it back pretty well actually, just NO form at all.
Fast forward to now, we now have a glove, a bat, a helmet, the whole 9 yards.... practices with his 5-6 year old team have now started.
For the life of me, I can NOT get him to step and throw the ball at the same time. He just doesn't get it. If he steps, which is on occasion, he'll step........ then throw the ball, but never at the same time.
Any advice?
