Had my old mans stereo equipment in storage the last 30 years. He was a big audio buff before his early death in '85. Got to digging thru it the last few days.

Apt Holman preamp
Power amp with No brand/numbers on front or rear with a glass top, Fisher 2306 stamped on a piece on inside, not sure if that is the brand or what.
JBL 4330 studio monitor speakers.

I'm finishing my basement this month and wondering if this stuff is still any good? Part of me wants to get a kick ass vintage record player and say F all the compressed digital music these dayz.

Fisher was a high end tuner and amp maker from 60s through 80s. Used to lust after their equipment when at UGA and after. Might be worth something to collectors. Bet it sounds pretty good for 2 channel stereo.

If speakers have paper cones, bet they are shot.

Yes, you're certainly right, but those speakers are definitely worth re-coning, which would cost about a hundred bucks for the pair.

They are probably fairly inefficient and would require at least moderately high power to make them sing.
