anybody had any issues/complaints with Cooper Tires?**

Not from me....they're the best tires I've EVER had on my cars.....
right now, I have their CS4 Touring on my larger cars. They're the quietest and smoothest riding tires I've ever bought and I've bought Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, etc., and all the rest at one point or another.

have 33" cooper discoverer mts put about 35k on them probably
close to half tread left. not too loud on the road although gas mileage is horrible like them better than the nitos I had before.

Nope. Had some Zeon ZX2 (IiRc) that I liked. High perf summer tires. *

Go get some Goodyears or Michelins
I've changed more tires than I care to count, and you don't want none of them Chinese-made Coopers.
If you don't believe me, use your Google engine and take a look at the events surrounding the Apollo-Cooper merger that fizzled out in 2013.

Bought a set of them for my wife's vehicle. No issues at all.
Have about 20K mils on them and they have been great.

I don't use them personally, but we used them on wildland firefighting rigs for years with no issues.
