he sets his front (right) foot almost a foot behind the FT line? It’s to the shooter’s advantage to get as close to the basket as possible; it just makes it an easier shot. When I played, I set my right foot in the very mid-point of the line, about an inch behind the line. Almost everybody I have ever seen shoot FTs does the same. Our coaches need to work with him on this, and it will make him a more consistently good FT shooter. He’ll need to be as good as possible shooting FTs next season because he’ll be getting a lot more minutes, possibly even starting. Coaches, do your job; teach him.
