It's mostly been in dealing with the real estate end of my life.
Last week I had an appt to show a house at 2. I get there a little ahead of time unlock the place do a walk through & wait. About 2:20 I get a call from the potential buyer. She says she's running late, apologizes, and says she's on her way. Around 2:45 I call her. She says she ran into some problems, but she's on her way, 15 minutes out. At 3:20 I walk through turn off all the lights, lock the door and call her. "I just never was able to get away. Can you just leave the house unlocked so I can see it later today?"
I set up an appointment to show a $500K commercial property last night. Guy is coming in from 1.5 hrs away. I get there, he's already there. Well dressed, nice vehicle, well spoken. Guy seems legit, I'm tickled to actually work with someone with some sense for a change. After going over everything and spending a good hour with him I close it all up. Everything went real well. As we make our way back to our cars he says "Hey I'm a little short on cash and gas, can you give me ten dollars so I can make it back to my town?"
Another agent in our office has/had a closing today. In moving the owners knocked a small hole in the wall when they dropped a piece of furniture. The buyers requested the hole in the sheet rock be fixed prior to closing. The owner calls and says he repaired the hole. She and the buyer went for one last inspection. When they got to where the hole in the wall was, they found a small block of wood simply glued to the wall over the hole.
