anyone want to comment on how many uga tickets for all games are on stubhub?

I've used StubHub with excellent success (selling and buying) for several events, concerts as well as ball games.

Ridiculous. Do fans actually have a shot to buy tickets? We don't go to enough games to justify buying the season, but with as many on Stub Hub, I've got to wonder if ticket brokers are edging out TREW Dawg Fans...

Half the stadium for sale each game

I think it is the sign of the times. For the cost of 2 season tix, you can really make a nice man cave, with 55 in tv (at least), air conditioning, enough toilets for everyone, better food, and a hell of a party, etc. And over the last 10 yrs or so, gas has skyrocketed (yes, I know it's currently the best it's been in a long time) as well as hotel's are gouging. (which, hotels have always gouged)

Then the complete aggravation of parking and tailgating. Used to be able to park anywhere. Friends could all be together in "their spot". Would even camp on Friday nights to secure that "spot". Adams and Damon changed all that. Broke up a lot of people's traditions which has made the bigger tvs, parties at home, etc. much more attractive.

But you never want to give up your season tix entirely because then you start over. That piece of real estate in Sanford you think you own because you've been in the same spot for years and years, you lose. So you sell the games you don't want, stay home in the cave and come to the ones you want to come to.

Just my 2 cents.

Agreed. We went to a ton of games after school. A big group of folks I graduated with would park down across from the TEP house. I didn't go for a few years but my wife likes going. We usually go to 2 games a year. We went to the Clemson game last year and paid 100 dollars a ticket. Then we went to the Vandy game and paid 10 dollars a ticket. I think all these schools could have higher attendance if the conferences had become more regional instead of trying to expand the geographic markets. If we paid Clemson every year that would be a sellout; all the hotels would make more $, ect. Still we have to play our gimme games at La Monroe or Charleston So.

A lot of people are trying to supplement their income on the back of Bama.

To put it in perspective, a minimum donation could get you a new set of tickets in 2013 coming off that great 2012 season. A minimum donation could also get you a new set of tickets in 2014 with Gurley coming back and the best home schedule we've seen in a long time (Clemson, UT, Auburn, and Tech). We had a new QB but people were generally behind Mason entering the season as the next man up.

Jump to this season with QB uncertainty and a pretty average home schedule other than Bama and a down SC and the minimum jumped to >$6700. So it seems that existing holders not only renewed but increased the number of seats purchased. Then you also have the possibility that people who have a lot of points but haven't purchased tickets in awhile got back into the game.

Some more good points. One of my friend's dad has 6 season tickets. On average he uses 3 of them; then either sells the others or if it's a game like App St a few years ago; the ticket ends up going unused. The other point is this guy is not hurting for money. I think season ticket holder per capita income is going up. The folks at Butts Mehere wouldn't come out and say it, but all this does is increase the average donation. One of my other friends is going to stop getting his season tix b/c cost are going up. I think a lot of the old school middle class folks are getting out. His dad bought season tickets back in the 70's and had them ever since. I think he may have them because his dad was able to pass them to his wife(someone help me with the grandfather rules here). Anyhow, my 2nd friend just doesn't see the point donating a huge chunk of change every year. He sees me going to 2 or 3 games and spending a fraction of what he spends. I'm really glad I didn't pay to see the game today - a lightning delay then they called the game with 10 minutes left?

Gave mine up after preseason #1 meltdown year, after having them for 25 years. Haven't missed them & it (Athens hassle as mentioned above) a bit. Go once a year, maybe.
