when I am out and about wearing my Dawg gear, I get more “Go Dawgs!”, followed by “Beat Bama, we are tired of them!”. Vegas is made up of transients from all over the country, so the people I get in conversation with are fans of teams from all over, and for the most part, they want UGA to finish the drill, especially if their team has no playoff hopes.
Before Iowa came down to earth, there was a group of Iowa fans celebrating their win over Penn St, then they noticed my wife and I decked out in our red-n-black and in fun manner, yelled out, “We will see you in the playoffs Georgia!”. About 5 seconds passed and the group of Iowa fans yelled back over, “But you will destroy us, you guys have a stacked team!”.
We had that same type of encounter with some Oregon Duck fans last night. The Duck fans have already conceded, if they get in, that UGA will embarrass them.
For this season at least, UGA is a general fan favorite in my neck of the woods and it feels pretty cool.
