Kudos:
Great win and comeback by the Dawgs. You have to give credit to Fox for keeping the lineups steady and the 3/4 court press after the tie was a great call. We had not showed that all season and Auburn was not prepared.
Observations:
I did not think we would win because I thought Auburn would come out shooting well (which they did) and double teaming Yante like Oakland (but they did not). Pearl said so in his press conference. I feel like Pearl was cocky and thought we would yield on the road if they went up by 10 or more and then he got lazy coaching wise and so did his young team. I think Pearl is a great motivator but his ego and arrogance loses him games when the other team has some talent. This is his Achilles heal and could keep him from winning the big game one day. He will win plenty in the meantime.
I like Harris' game and his demeanor. My prediction is he will hit a game winner for us someday soon.
Head Scratchers:
Is there no one on our staff that can draw up an in-bounds play from all different points of the court. Why do we pass up this opportunity to score? I find this to be similarly frustrating with our secondary break, although we are finally executing that better.
Irony
I feel like Pearl's arrogance in the 2nd half was very similar to Fox's arrogance in the 2nd half of the Oakland game. Both ended up losing for the same reasons, I think. I find this to be ironic considering the way Fox lost a terrible game just before winning won exactly the same way.
