These Bama fans have been smug since the 2008 blackout game where we get humiliated. I remember going to a church the next day and my 4 year old daughter wore her little Georgia cheerleader outfit. An old Alabama fan met me outside and wanted to insult the Georgia Bulldogs and Athens. Well, i’m sure he was trying to just have fun and tease as people are want to do, but let’s just say he wasn’t able to read the room very well. I was not in the mood. He’s probably dead now. He was old then.
Then you have my cousin, who was born in Alabama only because my aunt moved to Huntsville for a job as a school teacher. He doesn’t really follow the team and doesn’t know what’s happening, but he’s happy to want to talk trash when Alabama does something. The Thanksgiving after that 2008 blackout game was almost a very rough one….for him.
And now, Saban is gone. I think Deboner is a very good coach, I don’t know if he’ll be given enough of a chance to be successful there before they move him out. I have nothing against the man. I don’t care how good he is, Alabama has to take a step backwards at best.
