Bernie Sanders is old. He's not wealthy. He's an unabashed lefty. He's not much of a "big fat liar" (not as much of a liar as the rest of his counterparts in either party). His hair is a mess. He's NOT photogenic. He seems not beholden to special interest groups or individuals, who might expect to influence his commentary, his choices or his direction. He really does seem to be his own man. If Sheriff Andy Taylor of Mayberry was picking a candidate for his party, it is very clear at this point that he would choose Bernie.
I'm a Republican, but always vote for the person, not always for the party line or worse, whomever is prettiest. It would thrill me to no end that both parties serve up a candidate that is as much non-establishment (politics and "bidness" as usual) DC whore dogs as possible. Ideal for me would be Bernie vs. Paul or Bernie vs. Fiorina. Not likely to happen. Not because it wouldn't be right, but because WE the peeps tend to vote for the one with the most commercials and the one with name appeal or good looks over any other factor. WE generally suck at picking our leaders, so we are most likely to pick someone who is least likely to positively affect our day to day existence beyond their entertainment value to us on political commentary and pretend news broadcasts.
