My dad used to take me to high school games as a young boy around Augusta and William Avery and Ricky Moore were the best I have ever seen. I was in awe of those guys. Will Avery played at Duke and Ricky Moore went to UConn. They played on the same team. Right up the road I also got to see Vontigo Cummings at Thomson who went on to play for Pitt. Augusta had really really good basketball in the 90’s. So much fun as a kid seeing that. Also Ty Shine at Richmond Academy was a baller that went on to play for Seton Hall. Fun times watching those guys.
