The Braves almost pulled off a triple play tonight when Adam Duvall made a diving catch with 2 runners (one sucessfully tagged and one was caught in no man's land)

So it made me wonder, when was the last time the Braves had a triple play

My data that I have found goes back to 1988 and they have had three since then

How many do you remember???

May 11, 2000 - vs Marlins (away)

Randy McMichael pitching to Mike Lowell - grounded to Chipper Jones who touches the bag throws to Quilvio Veras who throws to Andres Galarraga - 5-4-3, but in it is better visually

August 10, 2003 vs Cardinals (away)

Horacio Ramirez pitching to Woody Williams - line drive to short and Rafael Furcal leaps and gets the unassisted variety

May 6, 2004 vs Padres (at Turner Field)

Juan Cruz ptiching to Kerry Robinson - grounds to Mike Hessman who throws to Jesse Garcia who throws to Adam LaRoche - 5-4-3

.... I could not find the video for that one - but I did find a triple play that the Braves did to the Padres back in 1986 - when Zane Smith was the pitcher

Since 1988 - the Braves have been victims of triple plays 7 times

August 7, 2019 vs Twins (away)
July 8, 2016 vs White Sox (away)
April 29, 2007 vs Rockies (away)
June 15, 1996 vs Dodgers (at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium)
April 16, 1991 vs Astros (at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium)
September 21, 1990 vs Astros (at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium)
June 28, 1989 vs Reds (away)

So they almost had one tonight on the 33rd anniversary of a time they were the victim of one
