I might put Derrick Brown even with BB because the DL is so important in Kirby's defense.
If We miss on Brown but land Michail Carter though, We're still in pretty good shape.
If We land either Hardman or Robertson, We're ok.
There isn't another kid on Our board with Burns' ceiling as a pass rusher though. He also is an excellent overall OLB/DE, He is strong against the run and He is very instinctive in guarding passing lanes, it probably comes from His basketball prowess.
Watching BB's junior video He weighed around 210lb at 6'4''. He was very strong at moving blockers and tackling, He will play in college at least 25lb heavier, and He'll carry it easily.
It took Justin Houston 3 years at UGA to do some of the things as a pass rusher Burns is already good at. He adjust His route seamlessly of the fly based on the position on the blocker in His path, He also spins off a blocker's shoulder like it comes easy.

Thoughts ?

You might not recall Houston's career at UGA.
He looked like a bit of a bust for a couple of years. He was very slow to become instinctive. I credit Grantham, as soon as Grantham started working with JH, He blossomed.

I honestly don't think scheme was Justin's issue. He was just slow to be able to adjust. If He came from the outside, all a OT had to do was keep moving a bit farther out and JH would keep moving that way. He'd usually end up so far outside He wasn't in position to get to the QB. when He finally learned to dip the outside shoulder and move inside the blocker, He was a new player.

Whatever shortcomings Grantham has, He is hell on wheels at teaching the OLB position,

That to and grantham was a heck of a teacher and he learned quickly

I don't mean to belabor the point, but Justin had to have some sort of block that He grew out of with Grantham's help. It wasn't completely the fault of His coaches before Grantham came. We'd produced some excellent pass rushers by then.
It happens, not all early producers turn out to be great, some slower to come around take off and dominate once it comes together. Really Houston was never in the class of Jarvis or Pollack at UGA though. He became a great player 3 years into His NFL career.

Jarvis was good

Jarvis was good

He was one of the all time great college football players.
We shouldn't lose site of that fact just because it didn't transfer as well to the pro game.
Since 1970 We've had Terry Hoage, David Pollack and Jarvis, not even Champ was on Their level as a college defensive player. Those 3 truly dominated games, very few can do that from the defensive side of the ball.
