me about coaches I like offensively and defensively. Imo, Coach McKillop at Davidson, who year in and year out, plays teams with better talent, and sometimes much better, does as good a job as anyone on both ends of the floor. He basically uses whatever schemes that best fit the talent he dos have each season.
I think Bob Huggins is as good a defensive coach is there is around. And I love how Jay Wright's teams move the ball.
There are plenty of others out there. But, the kind of coach I want and respect is one in the mold of McKillup...take what talent you have and do the most that can be done with it, using whatever schemes and strategies best utilize their talents. Some coaches have the luxury of staying within some pretty strict parameters in what they do because they can recruit players with the kind of elite talent that can function in any system. I don't believe we, or most teams can afford to take that tact.
