The battery tech is close but not there safety wise. Google the SK battery plant in Commerce lawsuits.

Safety wise the autos & trucks are ready. Performance wise the autos & trucks are ready.

But the safety and performance of the batteries are not ready. There is a reason Ford has pulled back on its Lightening truck series and that reason is battery safety & reliability.

My .02, if you own an electric vehicle - park it on the street away from your loved ones. Buy a long enough charging cable or have the charging receptacle placed out away from the house in the driveway. Do not park your electric vehicle in the garage or next to another vehicle at home (charging or not).
