Got an invite at the last minute and so glad I accepted.
For people who appreciate musicianship, it's a fantastic show to catch.
Six-piece band, Ndegeocello was seated and played keyboards as much as she played bass (the instrument she's known for). No costume changes, no dance routines, just 100 minutes of music, mostly spacey and/or R&B groove.
Rearranged covers of George Clinton's "Atomic Dog" and Sade's "Smooth Operator" were mind-blowingly good.
For fans of jamband-style improvisation and segues, this is a show you will enjoy.
Definitely adding her to my list of artists to see live any time they're in town.
