Some info from the tOSU AD: OSU will be in charge of things like stadium staffing. However, the actual in game environment will be mostly controlled by the CFP Music and all that will be the CFP. Tennessee will have an entrance video played. OSU wouldn't allow that during normal home games.
If you’ve been to an NCAA postseason event in Athens, it sounds a lot like that. 95% a home game, but instead of the in-game operations pumping up the home crowd, it’s the stuff you’d get at a neutral site. What would your reaction be if Georgia hosted a night playoff game and the 4th quarter break was anything but the full bore home team light show?
“Games hosted on campus” left a lot of assumptions, and I’m curious to see how fans of the host schools handle expectations vs. reality next weekend. I was glad to see Georgia get out ahead of the ticketing question over the summer and guarantee that season ticket holders would have first right of refusal for their seats. I expect most of us applied to reserve our seats in Sanford weeks ago - an easy process. The mess at Ohio State shows that even basic things like tickets aren’t a given to stay the same. I’m interested to see how the other first round hosts manage the event and learn what we might expect and can improve on if/when we host.
