I want to start by saying this is just the first year. It took college hoops many years to develop their RPI and Quadrant system to encourage teams to play more demanding schedules. Look at Bama's OOC this year to see how successful that has been. So, we can give the Committee a break as they are so used to just looking at wins and losses. But, with conference realignment, the vast disparities between the P2 and other P4/G5 teams, and divisionless football, clearly they have to look at some type of index to make sure that teams play some level of good competition.

The video below is a pretty good summary of the problem. A couple of other examples:

- Clemson lost to UGA, USCjr, and just once in the ACC. Why would they continue to schedule SEC schools? Had they scheduled GaSouthern instead of UGA, they would easily be in the Top 10 and likely in the field whether they won or not.

- We have years where we play multiple OOC and also the Nerds. Why would we honor those schedules? Especially when the SEC has done such a horrible job with balanced schedules.

- You can kiss the 9 game IC schedule good-bye. Not going to happen in the SEC where you have 8 more losses guaranteed. Also, did you know that the B1G only started 9 IC games in 2016? And the PAC and B12 only started it in 2010-ish because they had fewer teams and a round-robin made more sense. So, their constant whining about the 8 v. 9 games is disingenuous, at best. Welcome to the 1-7-7 schedule. How much do you want to bet when they reset that they screw us, and Texas gets an easy schedule again.

Anyway, here is the video:
