Dash and Dan, would y'all please accept the daunting challenge of identifying what schemes we are running on Offense this upcoming season? It would admittedly be no easy task as Fox protects that info closely and somehow thinks it counterproductive to discuss his schemes publicly. This is in stark contrast to how willing he was in Nevada to discuss his complicated Triangle scheme for which he received much praise.

It remains a mystery why Fox fails to appreciate how it would be good P.R. and would bond waivering Bulldawg fans to him if we better understood what he was running. You would be doing him a great favor if you would feature the assistant coaches discussing our schemes and characterizing what our identity is on offense.

If the assistants aren't made available to do so, then perhaps you could interview past players or local high school coaches with knowledge of our program to discuss the various features of what we are running. Perhaps AAU and HS coaches of prospects we recruit could be interviewed as to how their players fit the profile of what Fox is looking for. You might reach out to Trent Johnson or Jeff Van Gundy for help (either on or off the record) for help defining what we run.

Or some invitation could be extended to solicit serious contributions from board subscribers to write features as to what they observe us running. I can think of no other Power 5 program where it is so difficult to describe and identify what offense is being run. Does Fox actually change and modify his Offense from season to season and even over the course of a single season as some non-experts like me think he does?

We know that Fox values versatility in his prospects and requires that his players master the art of man to man defense. Beyond that, what skills are required to earn court time and make the offense succeed? Is it a mere coincidence that we lack efficient outside shooting, or is that a reflection of what our schemes are designed to do? Why does Fox require first year players master one position only before seeing minutes at a second position? Or is that perhaps a misperception.

It has been identified as a goal of the Hoops Board moderators and staff that posters minimize the subjective, repetitive airing of personal criticism of Fox. One way to change that behavior would be to provide objective information about our schemes. We are more likely to remain optimistic and objective about the team and coaches if we better understand the schemes they have installed.

I am curious as to when and if our current staff will discuss a particular scheme. I sometimes attend pregame chalk-talks given by assistants at two other programs. When those coaches are asked to break down the mechanics of a scheme, they will do so on blackboard, or on computer visual display. Does our staff ever do that? Is there any other established program where fans are unable to identify what offense and schemes we run? Are we asking too much?

If you or I were to attend the HS coaching clinics Fox sometimes gives, how much detail does he give on his offense? What video tutorials has Fox recently participated in that feature him touting certain plays or schemes? Y'all often provide that level of schematic assessment on the football board. Similar nourishing hoops info must be out there somewhere! How can we access it?

Thanks. I appreciate the hard-earned info that you bring us about recruiting and all things Bulldawg hoops related. I'll hang up now and listen.
