Since I cannot reach anyone at the company who gives a crap, I'm just shouting this from the rooftop in hopes that some Charter exec will see it and I know that I hate their stinking, rotten, miserable guts. If you are thinking about switching to Charter DON'T DO IT.

I guess it depends on where you live cause AT&T DSL sucks . It goes down a lot and when it goes down our phone out .

I have called the office of the president for AT&T and they will give you credit . Best advice is file a complaint with the FCC . I promise you will hear from them then . They have 30 days to respond and the FCC requires a detail report about what they did to fix your problem .

The Alabama public service comm told me to file a complaint with the FCC and that how you get them running like mouse in a room full of cats .

My problem is that I've been using Charter e-mail for business (big mistake) since 2006 and their e-mail system is BROKEN and they have NO IDEA when they will get it fixed. My email trickles in days after the fact and you never know when you've got it all. Many messages appear, disappear and reappear days later. The worst part is I can't dump Charter until I get everyone switched over: Tenants, Vendors, Banks, all the companies that send you online statements and online invoices, not just friends and family. It is mind boggling and the fact that their system isn't working ironically makes it harder to dump them. If I dump them now I'll never know whether I got all my messages or not and I could miss something really important. I have switched to G-mail but it is a big process when you've been using an address for so long. I've probably had this address since around 2000 and have been using it for business since 2006.

They won't issue a credit because they say their email is a free service and I'm just paying for internet. I told them try providing internet with no email service and see how that works out for them.

I have to use Cox Cable and AT&T, and both are terrible. Many friends and businesses make their checks out to "Cox Sucking Cable" every month. They have no pride at all---most likely Auburn people.

You should never use a carriers email. Comcast, ATT, Charter, or bellsouth. That is a big no no. If you have a business that is dependent on this services, you had better change it now. If you don't understand this, you should hire an IT person to help you weed through it.

Email and Internet service are two completely different services. Just suggestion...

I will never make that mistake again. Charter had a myriad of problems with e-mail last year as well. Some people's e-mail was not coming through to me and they thought I was not responding...also for some reason Fidelity's online account statements won't come through on Charter either. It's crazy. Their internet service is not bad but this has screwed me up so badly and their response is so piss poor that I will be gone as soon as I am able to reasonably give up that email address just because I cannot stay with a company that treats their customers so poorly. I switched from their TV service several years ago thankfully because my HD channels were going out on me and they couldn't get it fixed. When they call and try to get me to bundle my telephone (have a land line and fax line for business) I just laugh at them and tell them that I wouldn't be able to call to complain because my phone wouldn't work if it is like everything else they do.

Just keep two account and slowly migrate to the new account. Gmail is very good to use. Better yet is to get your own service through a web hosting company like Bluehost. 100 bucks a year for a website and email.

Uverse is absolute worst! Absolutely can't stand them but Charter is our alternative. That said, Charter's cable service we had for 14 yrs before switching was awesome. It was their customer service that was so bad.

But the entire package including customer service is bad at ATT. Can't tell you the number of arguments, etc. I've had over the last 2 yrs. Don't bundle. Especially with uverse. If it goes out and it does often, you lose everything. Landline, internet and tv.
