I'd much rather have a guy like this, than overpay for someone like Crean. Beard has Texas Tech in the top 10 in just his second season, and makes under 500K per year. He has won everywhere he has coached (mostly at DII and NAIA schools), and it not doing it with five-star talent this year. My point is, there are plenty of worthy coaches out there, however, this is all contingent on our athletic dept. not screwing it up.
