How in the world do we compete with them in the near future? Their recruiting is unbelievable. Another 6’6”+ 330 lb OL commits today, making it 5 at that size on their commit list this year. Seems like Kirby’s run will mirror a Saban at this pace.

I remember when we thought the same about Bama. Honest question, are they ever NOT Top 3 every year in recruiting?

When was the last time they were unbeatable?

Well they just won back to back nattys fairly convincingly. Kirby’s recruiting is significantly better than Richts. He’s finally in a grove that I hope breaks soon.

OP — the sky is not falling. With a few exceptions, UGA out-recruits us on a perennial basis.

Had a debate with a few co workers about this last week. They swore ugas recruiting was TERRIBLE before Kirby got there as well as saying Clemsons class was even with theirs most years. Until I showed them the final recruiting rankings from the last 20 years...

Simply not true.. they were in 7-12 overall rankings until 2017/2018 then it kicked up a notch to 1-3. Add to that, they are using the portal effectively. People who think Mark Richt recruited like Kirby are simply incorrect.

Because Muschamp and Bobo are making evaluations. Muschamp is very much into measureables. Would we take either of the 6'5" or taller defensive line takes last year over Peter Woods? Dabo's staff (including athletic department resources) have been getting the job done in evaluations. Shelton Brown fits the Rival's definition of what a 5* does when they hit campus - early contribution (a spot in the two deep). Kirby still hasn't learned that players in jail hurts the team.

Have to agree Opie. They’re going to be a force to reckon with for foreseeable future. Clemson absolutely has to develop and pull an elite QB…

"Hurts the team" ??? Hasn't hurt their onfield performance and besides, they don't go to jail.

UGA has some questions: how will the new OC work out? Has Kirby finally figured out how not to mismanage the QB position? But right now UGA has lapped not only Clemson but most of college football and they're outpacing Bama and OHST as well.

Don’t get me wrong, they’ve been really good the last 2 years but if Clemson has a competent QB in 2021 they lose that game. If Jameson Williams doesn’t get hurt in the 2021 natty and Marvin Harrison doesn’t get hurt in last year’s semifinal, they don’t win either year. Again, they’ve been really good but they’ve gotten some breaks too.

For all UGA's recruiting, they wouldn't have won either Natty without an unrecruited QB that they lucked into. We'll see how much more track their train has with a change at QB.

Yep, it's this simple.

First round QB with first round WR's will win the day, any year.

Bama had it, till the injury in UofGA's first championship game.

OSU had it until the injury in the game last year.

But, UofGA will crush all but one or two teams this season. And I'm not sure who those teams are at the moment...
