Even Bill Maher gets that there are other, equally valid perspectives on the clock that really did not look like a clock. It did actually look more like a bomb than a clock. OBL looked equally harmless and reserved at the same age. We have become such saps for anyone playing the victim card for any reason. Pardon me for offending your fear of life veiled as sensibilities, but that culture, that religion, "those people" have practiced the art form of being victimized for thousands of years. Ask the English, the Germans or the French how the integration is going. They do NOT blend. Even cartoonist, Al Capp, served up their self flagellation as comedy with his "shmoo" characters in his Lil' Abner series. They would slice each other up until you bowed to their wishes.

I call those media and political types, "recess cowards." These are the people who fear their own shadows. I'm sure old Bernie Sanders and Wolf Blitzer liked to mix it up out in the schoolyard back in the day. They will strut and growl at people and institutions that have track records of being non-violent and conciliatory. They are the worst of our culture. They pretend to be earnest about doing the right thing for all the right reasons, but they are scared to death to walk down the street........unless one of the bullies they like to disparage will walk with them.

Obviously, the reason this is receiving so much attention is he's a Muslim. In Liberal lala land, it is not appropriate, politically incorrect, to stereotype Muslims just because hundreds of them a month are blowing shat up around the world. However, in Liberal lala land, it is appropriate, politically correct, to cast praise on a young Muslim boy who brought a fake bomb to school, to prove they are not Islamophobic.

Interesting to see where the kid and likely his father's head is at. Kid is obviously smart and he and his dad have had discussion, you can be sure, about how simple or complicated making these devices are. The child made a clock that would look scary and took it to his school to show/frighten/impress other kids. And basically refused to tell a responsible teacher what it was as well as authorities. Probably to either make a case that would cast me and my non violent religion as a victim. Or scare hell out of kids and show them whose boss. Hiding it from the teachers, not being forth coming are both indicative of social culpability. An even more sinister thought is his father showed him how to make a bomb clock which is a necessary element. In any event the incredibly dumb, lying liberal cause machine jumped, no leaped, salivating and foaming at the mouth at creating a false victim in order to paint others in one of their faux "phobia" categories.

Can you imagine the fallout if the teacher had acted irresponsibly and it was a bomb? Or even if she had failed to report it she would have castigated by parents and other school authorities. Look it sonny boy, you and your father (likely) played a cruel joke, and it was rightfully and responsibly reported so take this as a lesson learned.

From what I can tell, don't blame teachers. The issue is, after police came, figured out quickly also knew it was clock, they still arrested him and wouldn't let him call his parents.

The real shame here is that another kid didn't notice it and whoop his ass. I'd like to think that if it'd happened at the school I attended, he wouldn't have made it much further than the front door before being dropped like a sack of chick peas.

This was a 14 yr old at school, they were able to determine it was a clock ,yet still arrested him & took him in.

That said, I have thought too, could be set up. If so, the authorities played right into their hands.

Excellent observation. He, too, proved what he's always been about, in spite of our "white guilt" allowing him free rein to be the one trick pony most media and celebrity types love to gush over. Professional gushers want to show how well they gush (just in case gushing may be needed in another movie scene or news clip). We're being played. ALL of us are being played, not just "intolerant" conservatives.

....and yes, "those people" or "you people" or "your people" is yet another innocuous phrase that unfortunately has become code for blacks or any other collection of folks looking to be offended directly or indirectly. Micro aggression is another one of my faves. Anyone hurt your feelings today? Did you tell Mom or did you go directly to the Governor? You and everyone else regularly typecast any group as convenient to your narrative, whether Catholics, liberals, conservatives, southerners, Jews, school kids, law enforcement or any other "tribe." Once again, you avoid the core and grade the periphery. Feeling safe (and smug) about doing that the rest of your life?
