that we haven’t hit this weekend. 10 hits in two games and we have yet to score an earned run. Their guy McLarty today had never gone more than 5 innings. Had we lost 9-7 today, that’d be one thing. But getting stonewalled yesterday and today is just worrisome.

I didn’t understand removing LJ Talley. He’s hitting 5th for a reason... it reminded me of LSU in 2014, Saturday night. Stricklin got pissed off at Jess Posey after an error and replaced him around the 4th or 5th inning with Cody McCance. Posey was hitting 5th. I’m not bagging on McCance, but he didn’t need to be hitting 5th in an SEC game. As I recall, Jared Poche also went CG that night and we also got shutout. Learn from that. Sometimes sending a message hurts a whole lot more than it helps.

And how in the world can Talley not come off the field as a freshman and have so much trouble staying on it now, as a more talented, more experienced junior? That’s backwards.

I also don’t understand why we bunt with Biggar. What was that, the 5th inning? We are down by 3... why give away an out there?

Why pinch hit for Michael Curry?

Sometimes shut outs don’t happen just because your lineup has a bad day...

All that said, I know we are better than the last two days... I think Chase Adkins gives us a good start tomorrow, and I think we’ll find some offense... The prospect of the head man overreacting to this and going off the rails is what may turn this into a longer slump... Tomorrow shouldn’t be a huge game for us, but it feels like it is...
