Well, Fox spoke at the Athens Rotary Club last night. The first question he received was about Parker and Gaines and their injuries. Neither are currently fully medically cleared. Fox spoke about Parker's Achilles tear saying it is a difficult injury to come back from, particularly in basketball, and that we would be taking it slow with his recovery.
Fox then turned to Gaines. He indicated they have taken Gaines to various experts because he was not making the progress our medical people expected. They are hopeful he will be cleared by the beginning of practice, but they aren't sure.
So, there you have it from the horse's mouth. Now I don't know about you, but I have concerns over the health of Parker and Gaines. The loss of, or slowing down of, Gaines would have a pretty detrimental effect on the season. Now, you may not think any of this is cause for concern, and perhaps you are right, but it doesn't sound like there is nothing to worry about to me.
