Georgia Bulldogs alum and Edmonton Eskimos defensive end Marcus Howard notched four tackles including a pair of sacks and a forced fumble in the Eskimos’ 23-12 road victory over the Ottawa REDBLACKS on July 18th. He has been named one of the CFL’s Shaw Top Performers for Week 4 <http://cfl.ca/article/top-performers> , the first defensive player to win the honour in the 2015 season.
The Huger, South Carolina native sacked Ottawa quarterback and CFL veteran Henry Burris twice in the fourth quarter. One of these sacks resulted in an 11-yard loss, and the other was a five-yard sack wherein Howard forced a fumble. In only two games so far this season, Howard has recorded four sacks to tie for first in the sack category with John Bowman.
The 2008 Sugar Bowl MVP with the Georgia Bulldogs is currently on pace to eclipse his personal high in sacks (11) from 2011.
