Volunteered Saturday for the second time at Countdown to kickoff. Spent time in the locker room with all of the players and I came away very impressed with this group of guys. They do not have to be out there doing things like this and they sat for hours in 90+ degree temperatures and gave their time to young and old Dawg fans from all kinds of places.

I was told that this years player turnout was among the highest they have had in the ten years of the event especially among the higher profile players.

Everyone looks to be in great shape and Trenton Thompson certainly looks the part of dominant defensive tackle.

One thing I was not impressed with was the locker room. Small, cramped with low ceilings, temporary chairs and some tables and some white boards. I would not have been impressed with this facility had it been at a high school. Does it make a difference on gameday? Maybe not but were I a top flight recruit I would wonder why this part of the stadium had not been upgraded since what appears to be the mid 1980's.

All else considered I think this will be an exciting year, especially if this recruiting class turns out some difference makers like last years did. Nervous about the QB situation but glad kickoff is right around the corner! Go Dawgs!
